Welcome to Portsmouth Fury basketball. The Portsmouth Fury is currently playing in the Solent league but was originally created in the early 90’s by James Harris, Andrew Goodale and Steve Ware. The team started out playing in the Central Venue league but soon progressed to the Solent league to win the division 3 title. Since then, the Portsmouth Fury have won all leagues and cup titles with the exception of league 1 and the senior cup which they’ve challeneged for without success. The Portsmouth Smuggles (a sister team to the Fury with most of the same players) do however win these two titles most seasons. The height of success for the Portsmouth Fury without a doubt came in 2006/2007 as the Fury remained undefeated all season winning the division 2 title as well as the intermediate cup.

The 2008/2009 season saw the Portsmouth Fury win the division 2 league title remaining undefeated in the league at home. Unfortunately, the Fury couldn’t repeat their previous double achievement as they crashed out of the inter cup at the quarter final stages to the eventual winners.

Training is at Fratton Community Centre on Tuesdays 8pm-9pm and Fridays 9pm-10pm. All are welcome to join us, especially if you any good because we can get you playing for us.
